Floor hardeners

BETOTOP 2 Medium duty floor hardener

BETOTOP 2 is a ready-to-use factory premixed floor hardener, used in finishing of concrete floors. The product contains a blend of specially graded aggregates, additives and cements. Suitable for increasing the abrasion resistance of freshly laid monolith concrete floors and cement based estrichs. BETOTOP2 can also be used to supress steel fibres.

  • cost effective
  • increased wear resistance
  • dust free
  • easy to clean and maintain
  • non slippery
  • moderately abraison resistant surface
  • non-flammable
  • non-rusting, surface requires no special treatment
  • medium duty industrial floors
  • stores and shopping malls
  • workshops, warehouses
  • parking areas
  • cold stores
  • offices and multi-residential buildings

BETOTOP 2 confirms to the requirements of EN 13813 screed materials.

Compressive strenght::                                ≥75 N/mm²
EN 13892-2

flexural strenght:                                          ≥11 N/mm²
EN 13892-2

flexural strenght class::                               F10
EN 13813:2005

abrasion resistance:                                     6,0 cm³/50cm²
EN 13892-3

Böhme class:                                                 A6
EN 13813:2005

Recommended application rate is 3 – 5 kg/m² depending on application.

BASE CONCRETE
New concrete should be formulated with minimum cement content of 260 kg per m³ concrete and with an aggregate suitable for the intended purpose. The water cement ratio should be kept to the minimum needed to produce a fully compacted concrete without excess surface water.

APPLICATION OF BETOTOP 2
BETOTOP 2 is applied to new freshly laid concrete by dry shaking. For optimum results, sprinkling should take place in 2 stages, when applied manually. The first stage should be to apply two thirds of the coverage rate of the BETOTOP 2, following removal or evaporation of surface bleed water. Once this application of BETOTOP 2 has absorbed all of the moisture, it should be floated using power trowels. Immediately after the first power float is complete, the second remaining part of the BETOTOP 2 should be applied and repeat troweling. A smooth, hard finish is then achieved by use of a power trowel float equipped with finishing blades.

CURING
BETOTOP 2 need to be protected against the quick evaporation after the polishing process. A curing agent should be applied immediately after finishing operation in order to avoid cracking.

BETOTOP 2 is packed in 25 kg paper bags. When stored under cover in dry condition, the self-life is 9 months. For special applications Betotop 2 is available in 1000kg Big Bags.

As with all cementious products the wearing of dust mask and gloves is advised.
